LACONIA, NH. 87th. ANNUAL MOTORCYCLE RALLY
JUNE 12-20, 2010
Article by : Robert Harris

I missed Laconia last year do to my cross country charity run but was glad I was able to make it this year under mostly sunny sky’s.

Unlike last years Rally that was basically rained out, this years Rally had quite a few nice sunny days and the motorcyclists flocked to Laconia in their thousands.

I ran into quite a few people who remembered the Tribute Bike from two year s ago and they could not believe the work done to the bike over that time period.

The Tribute Bike’s story and photo appeared in The Laconia Daily News paper on June 16th.

The Tribute Bike had the honor of leading the P.O.W. – M.I.A. Freedom Ride
into the event grounds at Hesky Park in Meredith, NH, on 17th. June. I was at the same event two years ago.

The Tribute Bike won first place in its class at the 6th Annual Laconia Bike Show sponsored by Weld – Fab Technologies at Opechee Park on 18th. June . See photo.

I spent most of my time parked on the main drag at Weirs Beach ( see photo) trying to raise money to help my less fortunate Vet brothers. I would arrive at 8.00 a.m. to get an up front spot then solicit donations for the next 18 hours until the bars closed and the streets emptied. I did this almost ever other day because stand up the whole 18 hours did a number on my legs.

After all is said and done , I look forward towards returning to Laconia next year health permitting and God willing . As before , it was good times with good people.
